Laminate Trimmer Plunge Base

We are proud to announce the availability of our new laminate trimmer plunge base for the Porter-Cable 310 laminate trimmer.* We have received many requests for this base, and after several prototypes and consultation with professional woodworkers, we have finalized the design. Together, the base and the 310 motor are a rock solid combination of quality, power, and compactness. You will be delighted with the smoothness and accuracy of cut as well as the ease with which it performs its various functions.

The plunge base debuted at the National Association of Music Manufacturers convention in late January. A small pre-production run sold out immediately to a number of world renowned luthiers. Interest has been very strong with all types of woodworkers.

This new model is very compact. The base plate measures 4.5" x 4". Construction and features are similar to the standard model: machined, anodized 6061 Aluminum and 0-1 tool steel, no castings whatsoever. In addition to a screw thread adjustable fence/circle cutter, the base comes complete with plunge springs and two sub-base plates, one of which will accommodate standard Porter-Cable template guides. A tower knob for height adjustment, a depth stop and a lever lock are also featured. A ball bearing edge guide will be available shortly as an accessory. Other accessories are planned.
